Easy On the Diphthongs, There, Sparky
Bing Crosby may have had a passable croon, but when I hear him doing "Adeste, Fideles" in Latin, I can feel the vibration of every voice teacher and choir director I've ever had spinning in their graves. Which is kind of sad, because I don't think any of them are dead.
"Vayy-nee-tayyyy ah-dorr-ayyyyyyyy-moos, Doooow-mee-noom!"
Or at least, they weren't dead...

Happy falafel day to you too ;-).
I hope it's a good one and Santa is very good to you and yours!
We have a house full over here.
Since when is December 23 "falafel day?" Please tell me there isn't more gift giving, card sending, candy buying or any other "tradition" to further fatten the corporations which are feeding off us like parasites. I refuse to start eating "traditional falafel day falafels" decorated with colors not found in nature while going through silly annual routines that always have a way of draining (at least) hundreds of dollars from my wallet. We have enough of those days already. Oops, gotta run. The twinkling lights are on the fritz again and there's fruitcake waiting to be eaten. Oh, and I gotta start thinking about what to buy for my partner on Valentines Day. It's never too early because you can't do less than you did last year!
b.r., if you don't get me a Falafel Day card, the Baby Jesus will kill a kitten!
Oh yeah, and check out this news story. Merry Christmas!

December 23rd is when Festivus is celebrated with feats of strength, airing of grieviances and at some point in the evening, attempting to pin the party host.
Happy Festivus
Is mistletoe involved?
